JOB INFORMATION
The Finance Specialist is responsible for accurate tracking of project costs, financial reporting, and grant drawdowns. Additionally, the role will assist the APCSC Financial Specialist with budget-to-actual reports and single audit responsibilities related to the Charter School Program (CSP) grant. This role requires a comprehensive grasp of project management and compliance with federal regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervises project costs;
- Oversees daily financial workflow of the grant;
- Conducts financial reporting;
- Provide training and technical assistance to potential applicants and subgrantees to support quality financial operations;
- Collaborate with APCSC staff;
- Monitor and ensure financial compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing grant activities;
- Develop and implement processes to track and report on financial grant compliance;
- Conduct regular financial audits to ensure adherence to grant guidelines and reporting requirements;
- Review the subgrantee’s annual budget proposals;
- Travel as required;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/ Requirements: Work experience in finance. Desired experience in grant management, particularly in federal grant management. Supervisory experience in an educational environment.
Terms of Employment: Twelve Month Position in Accordance with Negotiated Contract. The Alabama Public Charter School Commission is a non-merit state agency.
